An Underground Legend in Action: DMSO (Dimethyl Sulfoxide) for Pain and Inflamation Pain, inflamation and arthritis are the most common conditions for which DMSO is used. It is a safe, effective and inexpensive treatment and has been used by many professionals for an extended period of time. DMSO is most commonly used in the USA by veterinarians for inflammation and pain. Many vets and their families use it on themselves for pain, inflammation and infection. In much of the rest of the world, including Russia, Europe, South and Central America, Austrailia and Canada, extensive research and treatment options are currently on-going. Literature shows DMSO effective in over 70 different conditions and has been safely administered to humans using just about every possible delivery method, including IV, IM, sub-q, orally, as an inhalant, as a suppository, topically and as a bath. In our experience, used as a 100% solution and applied, at room temperature, as a topical spray, it has proven an effective treatment for pain and inflammation in people.
