DMSO Therapy?

DMSO (Dimethyl Sulfoxide) or CH3 SO

Literature shows DMSO effective in over 70 different conditions and has been safely administered to humans using just about every possible method, including IV, IM, sub-q, orally, as an inhalant, as a suppository, topically and as a bath.

Pain, inflamation and arthritis are the most common conditions for which DMSO is used.
It is a safe, effective and inexpensive treatment and has been used by many professionals for an extended period of time.

DMSO is most commonly used in the USA by veterinarians for inflammation and pain. Many vets and their families use it on themselves for pain, inflammation and infection.

In much of the rest of the world, including Russia, Europe, South and Central America, Austrailia and Canada, extensive research and treatment options are currently on-going.

In our experience, used as a 100% solution and applied, at room temperature, as a topical spray, it has proven an effective treatment for pain and inflammation in people. Some of the results are dramatic. In some cases a 50% solution seems to work better than a stronger one.

In addition, it has demonstrated anti-bacterial properties in stopping certain infections within hours of application. It has also been demonstrated to be very effective against chiggers by killing them, as well as stopping the itching.

We use DMSO topically as either a spray or as a massage liquid.

Not available in the USA

We use DMSO in México, but in the US, we just share our experiences with others and tell them what it has done for us, since we do not wish to run into trouble with the FDA. In the US, the FDA seems to have stopped all legitimate research on the effectiveness of DMSO.

Light-skinned persons sometimes experience itching and other mild skin irritation from the topical application. There is also a sensation of warmth upon application. Some people experience the taste of garlic or oysters, within seconds, after having DMSO applied to their skin.

DMSO crystalizes at cooler temperatures. Off-the-shelf purity can be heightened by placing a container of DMSO in the refrigerator until it crystalizes and then pouring off any remaining liquid. If this is done once or twice, I believe that it will approach pharmaceutical grade DMSO in its purity.

DMSO is a powerful solvent and penetrates the skin easily. That means that any skin area exposed to DMSO must be clean. If not, any foreign matter on the skin can be transported into the body. In fact, DMSO has been used to deliver chemotherapy directly into the body through skin absorbtion. Since DMSO is a potent solvent, care must be taken to avoid contact with any fabric or other colored material in which the color might dissolve.
